for Adults, Children and Infants in Clinical Practice

Are you working in a clinical setting and want to feel confident responding to medical emergencies?
This nationally recognised qualification gives you the essential skills needed to save lives and act quickly when every second counts.

What is the course about?

This Level 3 Award provides the knowledge and hands-on skills required to:

  • Perform safe and effective Basic Life Support (BLS) on adults, children and infants
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) confidently
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
  • Deliver fast and appropriate treatment, including the use of adrenaline auto-injectors
  • Manage emergency situations calmly and professionally until help arrives

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for:

  • Healthcare assistants and support workers
  • Dental and GP practice staff
  • Allied health professionals
  • Anyone working in a clinical or patient-facing environment who may need to respond to medical emergencies

No previous first-aid qualifications are required.

What will you learn?

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Assess an unresponsive patient
  • Carry out CPR across all age groups
  • Use an AED safely
  • Identify and treat mild, moderate and severe allergic reactions
  • Administer adrenaline safely using approved devices
